Let There Be Light

Our Kappa Group

We had a blast riding the curves of the Blue Ridge Parkway South in North Carolina this afternoon! It was a beautiful day - very hot in the northeast but wonderfully cool in the 4,625 foot altitiudes. Our yellow Solstice owner from Florida was so chilly, she put her heater on!

The organizers of this event put together seven different routes which accomodate the attendee's various levels of driving skill. Some routes are twisty and hairpin which require attention to speed and downshifting, while others are gentler roads with wide curves that are suitable for scenic cruising.

The runs have names such as Cesaer's Head, Bat Cave, French Twist, Devil's Staircase, Blue Ridge Parkway North and South and Mel's Ride. Fourteen separate groups signed on to ride the roads today and tomorrow, each group has a different numer of cars. Our BRP group had eleven.

I'll post more pictures to flickr later but right now it's time for a southern dinner of smoked trout, cornbread and ramps!

PS - I'm the one with the yellow lanyard and the coral visor!
