Thursday 21 June 2012: Portland Rose Garden

I did promise you a rose garden and here it is in all it's blooming, technicolor glory. Two years ago, our friends Lorenzo and Sheila came to visit the Pacific Northwest and we went to the rose garden. It was one of our La Nina years and the end of May was cool, wet, and cloudy. The roses were barely blooming. So, Lorenzo...this one's for you. And the place was packed. The traffic, on a Thursday, was unbelievable on the freeway. Doesn't anybody work?

It was a bright and sunny and warm day and not really the best for photography, I guess. The best rose images were in the shade.
