Recession Bites in Bicester

The economic downturn has hit the country badly and Bicester is no exception. No one is exempt, from the small businessman to the the big multinational companies, all are feeling the pinch.

Even Tesco, one of the largest grocery and retail outlets in the World is having to make cuts in overheads if its profits are not to fall further. To save on energy at their supermarket in Bicester, three cycle generators have been installed and staff are taking turns to keep the power flowing and the tills ringing!

OK I am only kidding, they are in fact taking turns on the exercise bikes to raise money for Cancer Research. I thought their efforts should be recognised with a blip.

PS - Arrived here a bit ahead of schedule despite the howling weather with rain all the way from Carradale to South of Manchester. However, its now a bit brighter although windy.
