A day

Sometimes there are so many things in a day it is impossible to do them all justice.

So in addition to a four hour Rural Affairs Committee which explored important issues of human rights and land reform with a first class panel I had a range of meetings including one with Jess Smith and her fellow campaigners for the Tinkers Heart , witnessed an old soldier and a younger one appreciate a newly unveiled painting about the armed forces in the Parliament's Garden Lobby and enjoyed a convivial farewell and "thank you" dinner hosted by Sir Angus Grossart in Edinburgh's New Club for Colin MacLean , who is leaving the Heritage Lottery Fund in Scotland after a fantastic period in charge.
