2015 Monday -- Los Angeles Freeway

I'm posting this photo because honestly I would not believe that the #134 Freeway (Ventura Freeway) in Los Angeles (probably Burbank or Glendale) could look like this at approximately 1:00 in the afternoon. This is absolutely rare.

We were on our way home from spending a weekend at our place on California's Central Coast in Cayucos. I had to get home because I had an afternoon campus meeting to be at and office hours and so on and so on. We had a good weekend on the coast and got to meet with our contractor/builders and catch-up on what has been accomplished the past three weeks since we had been there last (see yesterday's photo -- I no longer know how to link to a past photo).

Either today or tomorrow the wallboard with be installed and the house will again officially have walls. It is all coming together and I'll be thrilled when all the building concludes; most likely that will be late December or January. We are hoping that we can move back in and then our builders will continue their work on the outside of the house and on the other little room on the downstairs, south side of the house. Until then we are so very thrilled that they built us a guest room/with bath in the downstairs north side of the house. It is a strange little building, but we love it. The view is absolutely spectacular. 

It was the view that caused us to buy the place almost three years ago. Someday we will move there when I retire. Until then, we'll be thoroughly content to enjoy my long summer breaks and long winter breaks from the college and to have the weekends in-between those long breaks.
