One Crowded Hour

the imp

I took my mum car shopping today and to gird the loins for the onslaught of the super keen car salesman we had lunch at The Imp in Vic Park.
Gorgeous, tiny cafe with seating for about 20 max, industrial concrete and exposed pipes set of with curious little touches like lamps and comfy leather benches. Mum in her element with funky food (pushed pork , soba noodle salad and scotch duck eggs!). Also REAL citron presse with tiny jugs of fresh pressed lemon juice and sugar syrup.

After that and still girding loins, a trip to the Asian grocers emerging with a bulging basket, meanwhile leaving reluctantly behind fried catfish and a vegetarian range in tins including veg foie gras and veg barbecued eel.
I'm still trying to fathom how that works and think a return trip is in order!

As to the car shopping? Well if all goes to plan she may well be buzzing around in a little red job sporting mag wheels, spoiler thingy and fog lights. Not bad for an 85 year old, hey??
