June Challenge - Through a Lens - Testing 1, 2

'Through a lens' as a challenge in here is always likely to send people off to cameras or glasses, those with access to a lighthouse may have a third option.

So staying in the world of nostalgia (see yesterday's blip) here is a lens from my old Mamiya TLR. It is on top of a lens report for a modern lens, the colour fringing is in the report! Well how else do you show off a quality lens, but with a test chart.

For the babes in arms before the SLR there was the twin lens reflex - 2 lenses on the camera, one for a viewfinder, one to take the picture with. So you had a parallax error (as in all the other roll film options at the time), the viewfinder image was reversed (and panning was quite a knack!) and you couldn't preview DoF. But they were the cameras of the professionals.
