Saturday 30 June 2012: Bakewell International Day of Dance.
One of my favourite Bakewell events is the International Day of Dance.
Today I had the honour of making the opening speech something that I was flattered to be asked to do, but was a bit stagestruck!
Thank goodness I was able to hand over the mic to Jude Brown the event organizer who does an absolutely fabulous job of making this a truly great Bakewell day.
The sun shone and the rain poured down, sometimes bizaarely both at the same time, but it couldn't dampen the spirits of the performers and spectators.
Here's a little snapshot showing Romano Jilo Dance Group.
They're a Romanian dance group based in Sheffield whose performers are children and young people from the local Czeck and Slovak communities.
They along with all the other groups were fantastic, highly recommended for a visit next year.
