Threshing circle

Our friends Wyn and Natasha have moved into a new apartment on the resort, which overlooks this old threshing circle, where donkeys were used to pull a threshing board along to separate cereals from their straw. Although it's not much to look at, I absolutely love it - I love the sense of history and I'm so glad it is protected, so will never be built over. In the background you can see the "Hani", which used to be the inn for travellers, as the old road from Palepaphos (now Kouklia) to Limassol runs right through Aphrodite Hills. Unfortunately there are plans to develop the Hani into a luxury villa, which is a huge shame - I'm just hoping no-one ever buys it, and it can stay as it is.
