Derwentwater from above Ashness bridge

The single-track road to Watendlath passes Ashness bridge (the second-most photographed bridge in the country after Tower Bridge) and Surprise view, both well-known viewpoints, before continuing up to Watendlath itself, where we spent a good afternoon shooting flowing water. Having parked at Ashness bridge, for the obligatory viewing of the bridge and falls, we went out the back of the car park, and after a short climb up the fell behind, came out at this viewpoint overlooking Derwentwater. In many ways, I prefer this view to the one from Surprise view, as it gives a better angle on the Borrowdale fells; as well as a slightly less "worn" foreground,
