Quite Contemplation

We went back to Mottisfont for what we expect to be the last chance to see the roses. The gardens are spectacular and some of the perfumes delightful. In a week or so the lavender will be at its best.
These two were having a rest. The picture is deceptive because there were a lot of people at Mottisfont. Not really sure how I managed to avoid getting anyone else in shot.
We were lucky with the weather. It was grey and threatening when we arrived but shortly after the sun came out. As we wandered back along the river Test the clouds rolled back over and as we were looking at the David Austen roses that were for sale by the exit the heavens opened.
