Day 2: Kushiro Wetland to Abashiri

Getting up late, we started walking around Toro district in Kushiro Wetland. The aim of the day was to see beautiful landscapes of Kushiro Wetland. The owner of the youth hostel we stayed was kind enough to tell us some viewpoints including her favourite place. We visited three points called Sarubo, Sarurun, and Nihon-matsu. The blip is the view from Sarurun. It was extremely cold. We had spaghetti at a lovely Italian restaurant.

At 4:30 pm, we took a train to Kitahama Station, which is the closest train station to Sea of Okhotsk. During the train ride, we spotted many deer closing a railway just in front of us and it made us upset. Glad the train driver was well-trained and did not hit the deer.

We stayed at a B&B called Eagles' Perch. As the name says, it is close to Lake Tofutsu, where there Steller's sea eagle and white-tailed eagle can be seen.
