The Howff

7.4C bright with long sunny spells. Cloudier later in the afternoon. Light to moderate Westerly breeze.

Grocery shopping this morning at Sainsburys and in M&S at City Quay/Gallagher Retail Park in Dundee then we got Maeve the Deerhound from the car and had a walk up to the Howff. Half the Howff was in shadow but there was good bright light away from the tall tenement buildings at the back of the site. I was tempted to look for a close shot of one of the carved skulls, but in the end settled for a view with one of the trees and a headstone with skull in the foreground. I always think of the tenement building in the background as looking quite Parisian, with the windows in the roof space and the lead work.

On the way back to the car we called in at the Oxfam shop, each taking a turn to go in for a look as the other stayed outside with Maeve. A book each and a birthday card. Result.

Back home for lunch and another quiet afternoon. We needed a restful weekend.

Note: I just noticed, while looking through some photos of 'this time last year'. that I posted an almost identical shot in mono on 1st March 2015.
