Life's Little Moments

By dbifulco

Hey, is that your mojo over there?

Sometimes what you really need is a bright red bird to get your photo-mojo back.  And, almost as if someone put out a casting call, there were four willing models around the yard today.  They are still tolerating one another, but based on the fact that they've started singing (a sure sign that spring is coming) I expect that tempers will flare soon enough.  Cardinals will vigorously defend a territory, their mate, and any good food source.  But I digress.

This beautiful male required no editing other than a little crop.  The cloudy skies are actually perfect for photographing birds, especially ones with saturated colors like this guy.

We had some scary weather last night, including a tornado watch!  We don't typically get tornadoes this far north, and certainly not in February.  Anyway, we sustained no damage and didn't even lose power, so that counts as one in the "win" column.

Today it's chilly with scattered showers so I'll continue to work on sorting through my archived photos - seemingly an endless job, although it's kind of fun to remember moments.

Thanks for the comments, etc on my flailing chickadee yesterday - you are all way too kind!

Happy Thursday.
