Day 71 of 366 - The Old Gatehouse ruins!

Today's image was taken in the town of Kenilworth. It is a view of the ruins of an old Gatehouse that would have served as one of the entrances to the long gone Abbey of St Mary. The Abbey would have originally dated back to about the 12th Century (about the same time that Kenilworth Castle was built). It is were the poor people of the area would have been given food and drink. The ruins of the Gatehouse stand in the grounds of St Nicholas Church. The church was built sometime in the 13th century.

The photo was taken using the App VividHDR on my iPhone 6.

First I used the Snapseed to edit the image. I applied the Tonal Contrast preset and added a Vignette to the picture. I also boosted the Warmth, Contrast and Saturation. Next I used the app Mextures to apply the preset filter Darker Days by Ryan Olde. I then used the app Painteresque to add the Painteresque 2 style to the image. I added some extra Texture to the image using DistressedFX with the Stirred overlay and the Vanilla texture. Finally I used the app PhotoToaster to add the Tuneup preset, the Red / Blue Process FX, a medium dark vignette. Then I added the Antiqued texture and the Leather frame.
