Now, as I see it......

Castle Howard Blipmeet

Today W and I drove down to Castle Howard to meet up with fellow Blipper 'Riversider' and L. After a lunch in the courtyard cafe we had a very enjoyable stroll round the grounds followed by final drink in the cafe before we headed for home (or in our case, back to our holiday cottage). Castle Howard was used for the filming of the 1980's serial 'Brideshead Revisited' and is a lovely house in a superb setting. My picture is of the main house taken through a conveniently positioned frame in the gardens.

On the way out this morning we paid a final visit to Grosmont station on the North York Moors Railway before we head home tomorrow. The visit was timed well as three locomotives were in steam in the station; I've added an extra of one of them.

We've had an excellent week here in North Yorkshire and a good day today to finish it off. A shame to be going home!
