Above And Beyond...

A Fisheye Shot

We had intended to do a long walk along part of Offas Dyke footpath starting at Monmouth Bridge. As we drove there it started pouring down and then hailstoning. We put our walking boots on and stood under the car tailgate, and both decided it wouldn't be enjoyable, so got back in the car and drove over the Welsh border to Ross-On-Wye, Herefordshire.

The sun was out and it was glorious, proving my point that Welsh weather is abysmal. We walked a couple of miles along the river bank and back, before a walk around the town and a cuppa. We sat outside near the square. It was lovely.

Fishing is excellent in the river Wye and the blip picture is of a fish statue at the top of the town as you walk towards the river. I managed to catch a pigeon flying over the chimney pots of a nearby house. It makes an interesting abstract type picture. A fisheye picture without a fisheye lens!

If it's too much for you then there is a picture of the famous Ross-On-Wye church spire taken from an unusual angle.
