Sue Foll's picture of the day

Rain

I was planning to save my picture of the day for the cocktail bar at Dirty Bones in Kensington tonight. Then I though, it's Friday, give yourself a break.

We had a hail storm this afternoon. Brief and vigorous it was. I grabbed my camera and a close up lens hoping to capture the pea size spheres of ice hitting the ground. By the time I got down stairs the storm had ended and the ice melted.

I'm not sure what these tiny plants are. Growing out of the brick wall I have a feeling they are very ancient, like lichens (but not lichens obviously. If anyone knows, please tell me.
