It Was Knot My Day

Went off in search of sandhill cranes,
going to my favorite spot.
Didn't see a single one,
had to settle for 6 shots of the knot.

I did see perhaps a dozen deer,
but all of them wanted to flee.
None of them would approach my van,
had to settle for knots on a tree.

I did go out later with my daughter looking for deer. We saw 85, but none were very close.
