Wading in the water

I wasn't wading, but the bird was. I'm not sure which shore bird this is. I will have to look it up and haven't had time yet, but I think it is a beauty.

The extra is another critter from my trail walk, but it's not a bird. Let me know if you have any idea what it is eating. I'm behind on my blips, but trying to catch up. I've missed so much.
