Shepherds' Warning!

This was 4am, a beautiful sunrise, a red glow coming through the wooden blind on the bedroom window. I know it is traditionally the first of May when one washes their face in the dew, but perhaps I shall start a new tradition of washing one's feet in the dew on the first of August! It was warm and still and a lovely morning. This is the view from the front of the house.

Now, a mere six hours later, the drizzle looks as if it is set in for the day. The poor plants are being flattened by the gales, the flowers swaying and being buffeted by the incessant wind and the sea is steely grey with white horses on the wave tops. Definitely a day to stay in, watch the Olympics with some knitting and a good book, and a supply of red bush tea! Ollie and I won't be going far today!
