A recent visitor

I am unsure what this bird is called. It has appeared in my garden the last few evenings, stood around on the path in the same places and then sauntering around for a while before disappearing. Is it just a hairy pigeon I have exhausted my knowledge so help please.

Lovely relaxing day and now my friend has arrived and we are off to one of my favourite restaurants for a meal and a good catch up.
