Sadness

I was so very sad this morning to read about the tragic death of fellow blipper Richard Evans in a post from Anne and Basile on Facebook.  Then I saw Basile's  blip as well.  I had wondered why Richard and his wife Solveigh had suddenly stopped blipping and hoped that all was okay with them.  Such a shock.
I loved Richard's photography and followed him on Flickr and Tumblr as well as here.  I'll miss his talent and his kind, generous and encouraging comments on my blips.  I got such a sense of his personality from his writing on his blips, and I would have loved  a chance to meet him in person, but I'm so glad that I met him on this site.  The outpouring of genuine sadness in the comments on Solveigh's blip today is a real testament to the kind of person that Richard was.   My heart goes out to his family.  It's so difficult to find the right words at times like this.
There's a link to Richard's obituary on Solveigh's blip.   A fine man.
