The 'Great' War - 1914-1918

Today we  visited the second exhibition, created by Peter Jackson ( of the Lord of the Rings fame).

Yesterdays exhibition focused on the battle at Chunuk Bair, Gallipoli and in particular the emotional aspects of loss, grief, desperation and suffering. Todays exhibition looked at the wider theatre of war over the 4 years and a closer look at equipment, conditions and how the men and women coped with these, plus a bit of the politics involved. Both exhibitions were superbly done and neither glorified the war

This blip is a scene of life in the trenches. The first extra shows two soldiers wearing gas masks. It sickens me to think gas warfare is still being used today. The 2nd extra is self explanatory and very true.

The  pics on both days were taken hand held and inside where lighting was low and small spotlights used on the models . I am surprised that they came out and are not badly blurry.
