From the Heddle Hill

Today I went to visit a friend I used to work with 28 years ago!  She has a very excitable young Springer Spaniel, so we took him, and Ollie, up the Heddle Hill for a good walk up in the heather to de-bounce him.  It didn't work, but we had some super views looking north over the Bay of Firth and both dogs came back tired and muddy and covered in bits of heather!

S and I had a lovely time catching up and she made an excellent lunch of homemade bere bannocks and tomato soup.  Lots to chat about and more time to meet again now that she and her husband are both retired.  It's also really interesting to visit another part of Orkney that I don't know very well and see it from a whole different angle.
