SOME TIME AGO TRYING TO IDENTIFY A BUTTERFLY

on internet (where else?) I discovered that near The Hague there is a butterfly park called Vlinders aan de Vliet. Today, the weather being top, Mischa and I decided to cycle to this place and have a look and take photos.
On the map we saw that it was located beyond Leidschendam, but not as far as Voorschoten. We have a new recreationmap and we found out that we could follow a route with "knooppunten", meaning one follows a certain path and along the path there are signs with corresponding numbers and now and then a map.
We went through Madesteijn and the Uithof, then through Rijswijk, where we drank coffee and mint tea (sitting on a terrace with hot sun shining upon us) and through Voorburg, Leidschendam and suddenly there it was.
We had cycled from 10.30 a.m. till 12.30.
The Vliet is a canal from Leiden to Delft, with stately country seats. The Butterfly park is near the canal, not upon it.
1500 butterflies the careaker told us when we entered. And we saw many but did not count of course. Tropical heath inside and many children because of the holidays.
The way back we took a different route and were rather exhausted when we finally came home. Looking at the photos and choosing followed.
Now we go for a swim in the sea! Hurray.

My haiku:

Turtles slowly's swim
Butterflies around the trees
Descending for us

And the persian proverb:

A gentle hand may lead the elephant with a hair
