Under the Waterfall

This is one of my favorite photos of the trip, taken with a new telephoto lens. The extra is "my" porter in the snazzy turban, who carried my stuff as well as another person's for 16 days.

What a day, 11 hours of steep up and down in beautiful scenery and many mules carrying big loads to and from the Chinese, Indian border, including these mules passing under a waterfall. There was a huge drop underneath so the owners had to whack them hard to keep them on the path. It wasn't until the end of the day that some of the snow peaks, Trisuli and Nanda Devi, began to shyly peep through. Sleep will come easily tonight but decisions need to be made about who goes where tomorrow, there are some very tired and injured people in the group.

(For all those who were concerned about our injured by the falling mule, group member - she finished the trip and felt better by the end of it.)
