Fish Eye

This piece of stained glass was bought at least 25 years ago at an Edinburgh Art college graduation exhibition and has followed me around in different houses and rooms. At the moment it hangs in an east facing window and this morning was glowing in rich jewel colours as the sun struck it.
We bought it because we liked the design and the colours, but when the girl who made it told us that it was based on boats and the sea, we could pick out a fish eye, port holes and fishing nets. Needless to say, I haven't any note of her name and often wonder if she is still working as an artist.

Our lunch guests arrived with their 12 week old Border Terrier, Peggy, who is the most adorable thing on 4 legs I have seen in a long time. Had she stayed still for a moment I might have blipped her, but the stained glass was by then already in the can.
