Monday 13 August 2012: Gold at home for Andy Murray!
You have probably heard that the UK's Royal Mail has been painting a pillar box gold in the home town of each of our London 2012 Olympic Gold medallists. A lovely touch, I think, and helping to share a bit of the joy that the hugely successful Team GB's performance has helped to generate. Well, our local sporting hero is Andy Murray, DOUBLE OLYMPIC MEDALLIST, including his wonderful GOLD MEDAL for the Men's Singles tennis. And so we took a short drive up to Dunblane this evening to see the golden post box in Andy Murray's home town. Not the best of photos (it was overcast and evenings aren't as light anyway as they were a few weeks ago ,as the summer begins to slide on towards Autumn) but we were happy to see it and to capture a wee memory of this acknowledgement of Olympic success.
