The Pilgrim's Way

We had a lovely day on Holy Island.  We walked all the way around the island.  It was very fitting that, as we arrived at the island end of the Pilgrim's Way, a veritable pilgrim had just arrived, clad in a monk's robe and staff over hiking boots and trousers, carrying a rucksack and looking at his mobile phone. I don't think I would like to chance the wet sand over the long length of the Way.  
I've watched a number of You Tube movies of people having to be rescued from the cars after crossing the causeway when its not safe.  It's unbelievable that they would put their lives and those of others at such risk.  Seems to happen around 8 times a year. Madness.
