KON TIKI ANNO 2012

We got a surprise at sea today. We saw Kon-Tiki. Or at least a copy of it.
They made it for a new film about Thor Heyerdahl and his boat.

With Kon-Tiki he sailed 8,000 km (5,000 mi) across the Pacific Ocean in a self-built raft from South America to the Tuamotu Islands in 1947. He wanted the expedition to demonstrate that ancient people could have made long sea voyages, creating contacts between apparently separate cultures.

Impressiv achievement and he is one of our heroes in Norway :-)
