Party Time

Months of planning went into today's party. It was the idea of The Two Daughters. They felt The Man's 70th birthday should be celebrated with a surprise party. Many 3-way messages resulted in a very successful evening at the Punch Bowl, Askham.

#2 Daughter and partner will be away in South Africa for Christmas so they made the excuse to come down this weekend as their "only free weekend before they go away" and I suggested we take them out for a meal. Months ago I booked the holiday lodge to accommodate #1 Daughter and family. We cleaned it very quickly this morning ready for our weekend visitors and I arranged that we got out quickly before ArcaneSpark arrived from Sheffield. I made the excuse of detouring to get a daylight shot of the pub.

Kanyl and Mrs. kanyl picked up #1D & hubby and got to the pub before us. It was great to see the surprise on The Man's face as we entered the pub! He now realised I had chosen a venue close to where #1D would be staying.

A great time was had by all, the landlord even gave us our own private alcove and dimmed the lights when the cake made by katkatkat was brought in with lit candles.
