Happy New Year!

We had to resort to tape and a bit of lobster meat we brought home for her from our Anniversary dinner last night to pull this one off. The hat was much too light to stay balanced.

We had a delicious early dinner and then walked the Labyrinth on the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston. The weather was perfect away from the water. We walked a bit to see the lights until it got too crowded for my liking. Amazingly, we were home by 8 PM, a less than 35 minute ride from Boston with no traffic, unheard of!! We were all fast asleep before midnight,  so we had to have the cat party hat this morning!

For the Record,
This day came in sunny and clear. We're going on the 23rd annual New Year's Day walk this afternoon organized by the North & South River Watershed Association. They're going to guide the group to a site where one of the dams on Third Herring Brook is in the progress of being removed to help the herring on their spawning journey each spring. The walk is through a 100 acre woodland area on private property, open only for today's walk. Tick protection needed. I'm also a bit stiff from being knocked down by a giant Golden off leash as we were returning on a trail from woodland walk on Friday. The dog appeared with his owner on the crest of a narrow trail hill. He blasted down the hill at top speed and knocked me backwards into tree roots. There was no way to jump out of it's way because of the narrow path.. I have a stiff shoulder and as you can imagine we were very annoyed. The owner was less than remorseful, the dog was harmless, but HUGE.

All hands improving
