The eye

The hawk left empty taloned, but he will be back. I know he has to eat, but not our birds and little beasties, please.

We've had a fun New Year's Day. Great food and conversation with friends in our warm and cozy house.  The frigid air has settled in for a few more days, and it's so dry as well. We didn't walk around Boston last night after our dinner at Del Frisco's, but we did drive around and enjoy the sights. The crowds were thin, and those brave enough were bundled up so much that they could barely walk. We were home early, and watched the New Year come in as the ball dropped in Times Square on television.

We packed away the Dogcorner Christmas this afternoon. The tree is out by the bird feeders, a great shelter for the little birds. Our small rooms feel so much roomier. We leave our electric candles in the windows for a couple more weeks, but the rest of our decorations have been stashed away until next year. I hate taking them down, but suddenly it just seems too much and it all has to go.

For the Record,
This day came in frigid with unrelenting cold.

All hands happy
