Angles and Mood Swings

It's fascinating how a slight change in camera angle can render the same subject in such different moods -- if a Michaelmas daisy (aster) can be said to have moods, that is.

I was torn between the shot posted here, which has such a sense of jubilation and celebration about it, and this one, which radiates tranquility.

There is a poignancy to both for me, as having our Michaelmas daisies bloom and seeing the steady ripening of the wild blackberries means that autumn is not far off, and beyond that, the dark months of winter. All the more reason to relish these last days of summer!
