Heather Moor

Did an 8.5 hike today starting at Dalmellington and ascending Dalnean Hill, then to Craigengillan House and along Gaw Glen over the heather moor to Loch Muck. Good walk, quite strenuous, as no path a lot of the way and these tussocks can cause broken ankles easily, so we were careful. After our walk we visited the Robert Burns Centre at Alloway, and had a nice drink in the hotel there and a wander around, before heading home.

Our weather was good, started off dull and threatening rain, but that soon changed and we had sunshine and warm temperatures for most of the day.
