Good luck, bad luck...

First night up in the Lakes - feels great to be back up here for a week.

An evening wonder around Waterhaead at the top of Windermere before heading to get something to eat. Hugely lucky with the light - I was about to wonder off when this amazing shaft of light broke through and lit up the mountain side, with sunbeams lancing down through the clouds. Sometimes you're just lucky.

The luck didn't last for long though. My main landscape lens developed a fault a couple of minutes later. At focal lengths over about 35mm (on a 24-105) the aperture won't work - rather frustrating. Just as I'm starting a week on landscape photography. Grrr...!
