Cloud Hoy

Over to Hoy to attend an update session with RSPB warden Lee on the white-tailed sea eagles and general volunteer policies. We sat in the old kirk discussing this and then Lee warmed up some nice food for us. Then up to the Dwarfie Stanes car-park in the slim hope of seeing one of the eagles. The male did appear over the cliffs and we watched him for a while drifting high above us and then off over Ward HIll. Beautiful. Other birds on the trip included single bonxie, hen harrier, short-eared owl and 20+ whoopers by Brig o' Waithe.
