ESTATE OCKENBURGH

is in the news for some time now. The neglected building, once the mansion that 17th century poet Westerbaen had build for himself, and the park that he had constructed and put trees and plants in arriving from all over the world, is object of protest actions. A plan has made to renovate the building and not only turn it into an hotel and conference centre, but also to build a big storeyd hotel next to it. A large part of the trees in the forest will be cut and that in a protected area of nature!
The project developpers will win in the end, the municipality does not want to spend money on it, is the common opinion.
I went there this morning and walked to a pond, enclosed by thick bush. Standing still for a minute I began to see the small creatures, some busy other dosing away in the sunshine.
My dragonfly looks happier than the one I took some days ago, that was rather grumpy looking.
Good things sometimes go very quickly and before long I hope we will celebrate on Mischa's new job!

My haiku:

Little leaves whirling
To the ground around the pond
And in the water

And the proverb:

Poverty is not shame, but the being ashamed of it is.
