Schaedler, O'Rourke, Gordon, Duncan...

Watched Irvine Welsh and Dean Cavanagh's Wedding Belles last night. Dark humour and some silly "shock" value but very, very good. Great performances and accents (apart from Patrick Swayze bloke). Loved (train) spotting all the local sites. A review I read today suggested it was same old Irvine Welsh trying to shock. What do you expect? Well he fails to shock everytime now but still gets a laugh. A lot of "ken ye" moments.

The Granton Star Cause was repeated after it very early this morning and that brought back memories. Pat Stanton behind the bar was a classic. Happy Howden's fetishes not for the squeamish.

That was followed by a Sean Bean voiced docu called "Once Upon a Time In Iran". Regal men, caring women and beautiful children there await the inevitable square go with us and our allies. They took a pilgrimage to Iraq to be with their "brothers" following a road that their relatives had 25 years ago for a sqaure go with Iraq. As much of the West's (US and UK) cynicism and apathy towards the status quo continues the likelihood is a bleak short-term future for them. Despite this the humour of the older men was something to behold (who'd be the best martyr chat amongst them was funny). But as they said: "Better a bloody death in resistance than dying a coward". The interfering that Ahmadinejad refers to is hard to deny although the flames seem to be stoked this week by his 'napping of some navy to avert attention from his poor domestic performance. The world watches and waits.

All in - a fuckin' gid night and morn in front aw the fuckin box likes eh ya doss cunt.
