Looking out of the window

We went to the allotment to fill the bird feeders. It was a lovely, sunny and crisp day. Almost too crisp: -11°C is rather cold. We managed to get some work done and had coffee twice.

Mum was much better today. So all in all: A great day!

EDIT: Read more about how frost roses are formed. The windows in the cottage are old - so probably the surfaces are uneven and scratched in many places. In that way the frost roses can start in many places at the same time and produce these smallish, fernlike patterns.
