Meanwhile, at the coast..

Research ship......

......most days my Ma and I have a (telephonic) trip down (her) memory lane (it's a good thing we're on the same network and calls are free because we're sometimes on the phone for hours!) Yesterday's main 'topic' covered the joys of wartime dances in Haltwhistle and she let slip that 'The Olympic Hall', where many of them were held, was so-named because the internal fittings were reclaimed from the RMS Olympic (eldest sister ship to both the ill-fated Titanic and Britannic) when it was broken up at Jarrow in 1935. The weather being what it was (and still is!) I've been doing a bit of research.....fascinating stuff.....

A video link (mainly for my Ma, but it tells the back-story......may add some lots more later......)

Have a great weekend when it comes blipmates!!
