Gardens by the Bay, Singapore

Day 4

Early start for church, the 8.30 am English service. Ten services during the day in several languages.

After church, a meander around the local area, with Peranakan influence in the architecture and shops.

Dim Sum lunch at the Prima Tower. A revolving restaurant on top of a flour mill. It overlooks Sentosa, and part of the docks. 90 minutes for the 360 degree experience. The food was amazing.

On to the Peranakan Museum. Excellent guided tour. I found this place most interesting. A whole floor dedicated to the twelve day wedding ritual. Jewellery, beadwork, Kebaya dress, heavy headgear. The Tea Ceremony featured, so we knew about that. Excellent photos and information boards.

Next, Gardens by the Bay. You might think the above is somewhere in the U.K., but it is part of the Blue themed area in the Flower Dome. The sheer size of the place is breathtaking.

On to the Cloud Forest (extra), to experience the misty cloud which comes on every two hours. A huge indoor waterfall, and a high walkway.

Noodles, Rice, Pork, and Duck, then outside for the Super Tree Sound and Light Show, with fireworks at the Marina Bay Sands as a backdrop. Planes and helicopters overhead. It was a rehearsal for the National Day Parade.

The finale, a treat of walking the Sky Walk high up between the trees. What a grandstand view across the city.

A wonderful day, special to share it with J, C, and the Boys.
