Day 14

A truly memorable day, we feel very blessed.

Top notch treatment at Changi airport, including complimentary lunch in the First Class lounge. It was quite superb. Priority boarding for our 3.5 hour flight to Hanoi.

Met by our driver for the next few days. Taken over the impressive new cable stayed Nhat Tan bridge spanning the Red River. Multicoloured lighting.

Dined on local food, not quite sure what some of it was. Enjoyed the fish with green mangoes.

Then a tour around the city centre. So many mad motorbikes. Thousands of them. Many not wearing helmets, whole families on one bike. There seemed to be no rules of the road. Drove by a huge lake, beautiful colourful reflections. Dance classes taking place on wide pavements. A real buzz about the place.

Checked into five star Marriott hotel, enjoying every moment of luxury. I can hardly believe I am here. What an adventure.
