Across the lake

Another evening visit to the nature reserve behind the hotel, and managed to make my way a little further in this time. By the visitor centre in the middle the there were some old posts rotting away in the water which made for an interesting picture.

While taking the shots I got talking to the chap who was locking up the visitor centre - a real Nottingham local and a bit of a 'salt of the earth' type. Turns out he'd been out of work for the last 3 years and was so happy to have got a job at the reserve. I ended up chatting him for the 10 minutes back along the road out of the reserve. Really interesting talking to someone who'd gone through such a tough time - puts my daily troubles into perspective.

Back south tomorrow evening - hope to be back in time for the camera club meeting with a presentation from a prison officer - promises to be interesting.
