All Change

It's little wonder that the British constantly speak about the weather; it provides a constantly changing background to our lives, influencing moods and activities.

After the last three days of balmy Autumn sunshine when it was a delight to be outside soaking up the vitamin D, we were due for a change and it came today when the morning blew in rainy and dreich.

I rather liked the contrast in this blip with the lady battling the wind and rain in an effort to keep dry while a wet Ellie Simmonds in the background swims her watery lengths.

As I look out over the Meadows through the curtain of rain, I can see five seagulls rooted to the spot on the grass, but no dogs visible. With the wind gusting, even the umbrellas have mostly been given the heave.

It's just the day to 'coorie doon' in a comfy chair with a book. which is what is on order since my friend o.m.t's is off in Greece lying on a sunny beach and charging her batteries, lucky lady that she is.
