Squash

It's been a long day in the studio...glazing and loading the kiln, but it's on and i'm happy to be done.   On my way back from the studio i noticed these lovely squash sitting on the bench....our harvest wasn't very bountiful...but i'm going to put one in the oven for dinner tonight.

Listening to a very good book on cd., Bel Canto by Ann Patchett....all about a terrorist attack in the home of the prime minister of some mysterious country in South America.....a wealthy Japanese gentleman has hired this amazing opera singer, from the States, to entertain him and about 100 others.   It's the story of how they are all being affected by the kidnapping .... they are presently into week 3 of their captivity....it's got a very slow and beautiful way ..... such an interesting contrast when you think they are being held by terrorists!
