The river Mersey at sunset

Remembered to take my camera this time when walking Minnie (smallest of our 3 Yorkies). Despite diminutive size she can exert quite a pull on the lead-holding/camera-stabilizing arm! Also I'd forgotten she always gets carsick, so had to deal with a pool of something nasty containing 3 complete slices of ham - wonder who gave her those, Leon? Had a lovely time walking round Sefton Park, the largest and grandest of Liverpool's Victorian parks, and was surprised to see how many others had the same idea. The place was teeming with families, children, dog-walkers, joggers and cyclists who had shunned the lure of the remains of the January sales or the DIY outlets to enjoy some winter sun instead. Took pics of the Palm House, the lake with its feeding-frenzy of ducks and gulls, the newly-restored statue of Eros, then decided to drive to Otterspool Promenade to see if I could catch the sunset over the river. This is the result - a bit burnt out but at least you can see the Wirral coastline on the other side, and even the faint outline of the Welsh hills beyond. Was tempted by the big red statue of a seated bull looking on in disdain as a dog pee'd on its foot, or the rollerblader being pulled along by his pitbull terrier, but settled on the sunset instead.
