Horton Bridge (Wednesday 7th February 2018)

As I walked into Calne yesterday night there were snowflakes floating into me, and it was even beginning to settle as I walked home again - Calne's first sign of snow in about a year. It was all gone by morning and if I hadn't been outside I may have never known about it.

This afternoon I ended up at the canal at Horton Bridge where there was still a bit of snow on the towpath and ice on the canal. A heron (see Extras) flew out in front of me and let me get quite close when it landed on my path. When it did take off it was because of two annoying dogs barking and chasing each other on the path beside the private moorings opposite, and I didn't blame it.
