Saturday 31 March 2007: Heading South!

It's not hard to see why so many people are drawn back to Orkney time and time again when views like this are the last memory.

This is the crossing from Stromness to Scrabster (Thurso), sailing down the west coast of Hoy you get a cracking view of The Old Man of Hoy and a glimpse of Rackwick, which is one of the most amazing places on the planet.

Next part of the journey was the 10 hour drive to Cumbria. Even that wasn't so bad as the sun shone and the kids behaved. And the added bonus... much to their delight Grandad had taped Dr Who!
